Road racing on the Isle of Man, while obviously dominated by the two main events on the Mountain Circuit, namely the TT and the Manx Grand Prix, does not stop there.

There are numerous events throughout the year. On the Billown Circuit in the south of the Island, the foremost of these is of course the Southern 100, held usually in July and attracting fans and competitors alike from both the UK and Ireland. In addition there are Classic racing events held over this same circuit.

In the north of the Island the Andreas Racing Association organizes both road racing on the Jurby West Circuit and other short circuit events on the ex RAF Aerodrome also at Jurby. Over the years that racing has been held on the airfield, a number of variations to the configuration of the course have been used, all featuring the main runway, which gets further use during both TT and MGP periods by the competitors fine tuning their machinery
