Recently, we had a request from Edward Canning, a biker from Lancashire, who wanted
to experience a lap (pillion) of the TT Course before his first TT visit in 2009.
So we sent out Edwards details and request to see what could be arranged.
Well we’ve now been updated that Ed’s wish was granted thanks to a young ambassador
for the Islands Biking fraternity named Ryan. On 12 October, Ed met up with Ryan
at the bungalow for his lap.
Ed has asked us to publish his thanks to Ryan (who also provided helmet and riding
gear)for the experience, which he has described as the highlight of his visit. We
at ManxBiker would also like to add our thanks to Ryan for extending the Bikers spirit
to Ed, and giving him a small taste of what’s yet to come.
We’ve even got photos of Ryan (preparing ?) and Ed (astride Ryans CBR600) dreaming
of next year.

Well, TT has been and gone and I have now received the following message from Eddy after his visit.
“ Dave, it was absolutely utterly amazing, I just couldn't comprehend the speeds down Bray Hill. We were outside St Ninians church, fantastic place for spectating.
I have enclosed a picture of myself with the Guy Martins' promotional girls. Please feel free to use it as a closer to the manxbiker story . Unlike other events I was amazed how all the riders were so accessible, and you could see the mechanics working on the bikes up close. The atmosphere was intoxicating, and the crowds so enthusiastic. For a TT visit in one day it could not have gone better. Having talked to so many people who were staying a week or more , the vast majority felt that more entertainment and investment could be laid on for the visiting bikers, and missed the street entertainment on the prom in the evening, not my opinion- but just passing it on. TT09 will be the first of what will now be my annual pilgrimage, the aim being to surpass the older gents tally, who was spectating next to us, who was watching his 43rd TT,with the same passion that prompted his first.
The only shockingly sad part was the tragic death of John Crellin in the senior race, after we had watched him successfully compete in the TTX GP.
I got intouch with Ryan who first took me round, and started this amazing experience, apparently he had a bump and wrote off his bike, so I will be returning the favour when over again ,usually 4 times/year, also enjoying the scuba diving and pistol shooting available on the island.
Thanks Dave and all the very best Eddy “
